Students and teachers participate in ‘Shramdaan for cleanliness’ campaign at FBS
Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, which commenced on September 15, reached its culmination on the eve of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary.
The campaign aims to promote community participation, emphasize the importance of a clean neighbourhood, reinforce sanitation as a collective responsibility, and prepare for Swachh Bharat Diwas (October 2).The theme of Swachhata Hi Seva is ‘Garbage Free India,’ with a focus on visual cleanliness and the welfare of Safai Mitras.
In response to Prime Minister’s ‘Shramdaan for cleanliness’ call under the campaign, approximately sixty Scouts and Guides of FBS along with the Principal and teachers thoroughly cleaned both sides of the road leading to Sikharchandi Temple. The participants separated both bio-degradable and non-degradable things and disposed them as per environmental norms. The volunteers took out a rally later to create awareness among the people about the urgency of keeping their neighborhood neat and clean.
Our Principal reminded the Scouts and the Guides of Gandhiji’s famous saying – “Cleanliness is next to Godliness.” Refreshments were served to all the participants before departure.
