Student Well-being

The Student Well-being initiatives at FBS support the physical, mental and emotional health and safety of students. Awareness campaigns, qualified doctors on call, on-campus counsellors and hospital partnerships ensure that students study in a safe and nourishing environment.

Medical Care

FBS has a dedicated, fully-operational infirmary staffed with a qualified nurse. The nurse is present during school hours and attends to day-to-day medical-related issues.

The tie-up with the Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Hospital, 300 metres away, gives students immediate assistance in the case of any medical injuries, sudden sickness or any health-related emergencies.

Doctors from KIMS conduct a general medical check-up of students once a year. Oral hygiene, dental and eye check-ups of students are done twice a year.

Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) does the vaccination and deworming programme. FBS also has ambulance service during school hours.

Counselling

FBS is dedicated to ensuring the emotional well-being of every child. A qualified full-time school counsellor helps students resolve various issues, no matter how minor or severe they may be. Parents are also welcome to contact the school counsellor about their children.

Yoga

Yoga is a mandatory feature of the academic programme, with trained yoga teachers taking regular classes for students. Teachers and staff can also attend the sessions.

Safety and Security

Alert and vigilant security personnel man various entry and exit points at FBS. Strategically located CCTV cameras at multiple points on the campus monitor and keep track of movement within the premises. Fire alarms, fire extinguishers, etc., are installed per government norms to keep the premises safe from fire hazards. Non-authorized persons cannot enter the campus.
