The FBS Foundation Level Programme (FLP) caters to children from nursery up to Class 2. FLP follows a non-formal approach to education with multilevel play and activities. The students are encouraged to play, explore and discover while learning basic concepts in language, mathematics, art and craft, dance and music.
The emotional health of an individual child is further nurtured and built at this level through effective classroom management, recognising positive behaviours, enhancing mindfulness, empathy, sharing and social awareness. Students develop self-awareness of themselves as responsible and capable learners for the first time.
Digitally equipped classrooms with a computer, audio-visual lessons, projector and smart board bring the concepts alive through visual learning.
Training in listening, reading, speaking and writing in English strengthens students’ communication skills in a global world.
The FBS FLP emphasises learning and understanding concepts through a curriculum that reflects young learners' needs and is progressive. Each student gets individual attention.
Teachers provide a nurturing environment wherein the students develop an awareness of themselves as learners for the first time. The teachers work with counsellors and design and develop activities that foster social and emotional development in the classroom.
The curriculum integrates sports, role-playing, dance, and music. Nature walks, exposure visits, and arts and crafts are features of the FLP learning experience. For instance, students visit the Museum of Natural History, spend time outdoors on the green school campus, or do origami and vegetable printing to embrace their sense of wonder and curiosity.
Teachers' evaluations and assessments are continuous and comprehensive to follow a student's progress. There are no examinations.

The FBS Foundation Level STEM programme taps into children’s natural and innate curiosity about the world around them. At the FLP Level, STEM education gives kids an approach to understanding the world rather than developing subject knowledge.
