To celebrate the cultural significance of Boita Bandana and to promote awareness about Odisha’s rich maritime history, Sambad Digital organized the 2nd Edition of the Boita-Making Contest across various schools in Bhubaneswar. Students were encouraged to prepare miniature Boitas (boats) using traditional and eco-friendly materials, symbolizing Odisha’s glorious sea-trade legacy.

We are proud to announce that Sai Satyam Das, class VII, Ankita Sahoo and Bidisha Mishra, of class VIII from Future Bhubaneswar School, have won a Consolation Prize in this prestigious event. Their  handcrafted boats were selected for display at the Nayapalli Durga Mandap, where the participants ceremoniously floated their Boitas in a specially arranged pond, recreating the traditional Boita Bandana ritual.

The prize distribution ceremony was held on 4th November, 6:00 PM, in the presence of parents, teachers, and cultural dignitaries. The participants received a certificate and cash award of ₹1000/- as a recognition of their creativity and cultural enthusiasm.
