Odisha is one of the three hosts for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup India 2022, scheduled to be held between October 11- 30 across Odisha, Goa and Maharashtra. This will be the first FIFA women’s competition to be held in India and the first FIFA competition to be hosted by Odisha. Our Chief Minister, Shri Naveen Patnaik launched the official host city logo of the state for the upcoming U-17 Women’s World Cup at an event in Kalinga Stadium on 10 Sep 2022.

The event also inaugurated a special initiative for school children called the “Kick Off The Dream Football Carnival” which aimed at introducing football to school children. 100 students from Classes VII and VIII, mostly girls of Future Bhubaneswar School (FBS), participated in this Carnival. They enjoyed playing different football-themed games and engaging in other fun-filled activities.
