FBS celebrates Children’s Day

India celebrates Children’s Day every year on November 14, the birthday of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru who was the first Prime Minister of our country.

The teachers and students of FBS celebrated this occasion with great enthusiasm and excitement. The day commenced with our Principal Mr. Mathew Thomas addressing the children in the morning assembly. He highlighted the importance of the day and how it was associated with Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s birthday. He added that children were very close to the heart of the former Prime Minister of India who had once said that “The children of today will make the India of tomorrow. The way we bring them up will determine the future of the country.”

This was followed by paying floral tribute to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s photograph and lighting the traditional lamp to trigger celebrations. The teachers organized segment wise cultural programs that enthralled and entertained the students. The program included skits, dances, songs and speeches. The children were immensely happy and thanked the teachers for their love and affection. The day ended with distribution of chocolates and gifts among the students.
