Students of FBS attend a two-day event at IIT Bhubaneswar as part of the celebration to commemorate National Space Day on August 23.
The Research & Entrepreneurship Park (REP) of IIT Bhubaneswar joined hands with Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to commemorate the National Space Day and Chandrayaan-3’s triumphant moon landing on August 23. The month-long celebration, spanning from July 20 to August 23, 2024, kicked off with a two-day event at IIT Bhubaneswar on July 22-23, in association with Satish Dhawan Space Centre, SHAR.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Prof. Hirendra Nath Ghosh, director National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar and Prof. Shreepad Karmalkar, Director, IIT Bhubaneswar. The highlights of the two-day event included a mobile exhibition of ISRO’s innovations and achievements namely ‘Space on the Wheels’ and static floor exhibitions of scaled-down models and equipment being used in the space sector. The event also included a space quiz for school students, popular talks by leading scientists of ISRO, Space Start-ups, academicians, followed by interaction among various stakeholders. The initiative aimed to cultivate entrepreneurship in space technology, spotlighted by IIT Bhubaneswar’s 100-Cube Start-up Initiative.
Dr. Soobhankar Pati, CEO of the Research and Entrepreneurship Park at IIT Bhubaneswar and other leading ISRO scientists addressed the audience, urging students to innovate and explore entrepreneurship in shaping the future of space technology. 33 students from Class X of Future Bhubaneswar School (FBS) attended the seminar hosted at IIT Bhubaneswar at Arugul, Jatani.. The event drew a crowd of approximately 2500 attendees, including 1500 students from both government and private schools across the city.
