In 2008, a group of aspiring educationists established the Future Bhubaneswar School to deliver meaningful, holistic education beyond classroom learning to children of Odisha. Today, FBS is a leading co-educational day cum boarding school spread across 4.5 acres of lush green campus at Silicon Hills in Bhubaneswar.
A Senior Secondary School affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and recognised by the Government of Odisha, FBS has more than 1,500 students and 50 faculty members.
The Times School Ranking Survey 2020 honoured FBS as the 5th best school in Bhubaneswar and 7th best in Odisha. In 2021, the Times recognised it as one of the most promising schools in the state.
Founder, Future Bhubaneswar School 1962 - 2008
Dr Laxman Mohanty, born on 5 May 1962 in Bhairabpur, Bhadrak District, Odisha, was a technocrat, entrepreneur, artist, writer and philanthropist. Laxman, from rural Odisha, studied hard, getting the national scholarship and attending Ramakrishna Mission and Birla Public Schools. After schooling, he pursued engineering in Electrical & Electronics and a PhD from BITS, Pilani.
Future Bhubaneswar School is the brainchild of Dr Laxman Mohanty. Passionate about making Bhubaneswar a hub of quality education, he established the Future Focus Foundation Trust (FFFT). Under the aegis of FFFT, the Future Bhubaneswar School took shape and now delivers holistic education to support every child realise their aspirations.
Laxman taught us that colossal victory comes when we take monumental challenges head-on. This motto for success will remain a beacon for us for a long time. FBS holds high the ideals he cherished and the causes he championed. His spirit continues to guide and inspire us forever.
