1. Aaryanajit Mohanty, Class 8 wins the 1st prize in senior category of Indian Space Science Olympiad
Aaryanajit Mohanty of Class 8, bagged the first position in senior category (Class 8 to 10) of Indian Space Science Olympiad (ISSO) held under the aegis of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) at Thrissur, Kerala.
ISSO is a competition on India’s achievements in Space science & Technology for students of Class 5-12. ISSO 2022 was organized by Edu Mithra Intellectual services Pvt. Ltd. with a mission to attract and encourage young minds to explore the field and enhance their aptitude in space science & technology.
ISSO 2022 comprised of two rounds. More than 5000 candidates participated in the first round of the Olympiad held on 29 September 2022 across the country. 150 students from across the country were shortlisted to participate in the final round from 27-29 December 2022. The final round consisted of a three-day workshop followed by Space Quiz and Oral Presentation organized at Vidya Academy of Science and Technology, Thrissur, Kerala. The students got an opportunity to interact with eminent ISRO scientists during this workshop.
Aaryanajit’s presentation on ‘Future of Indian Space Science’ was adjudged as the best in the senior category. The grand prize awarded to Aaryanajit Mohanty was a ‘Newtonian Parabolic Mirror Telescope’, certificate of excellence and a medal.
