Aaryanajit Mohanty, Class 8 wins 1st prize in BMC Level Science, Mathematics and Environment Exhibition (BLSMEE)

Aaryanajit Mohanty of Class 8 won the 1st prize in the BMC Level Science, Mathematics and Environment Exhibition (BLSMEE), held at Government Boys’ High School, Unit 8 on 5 December 2022. Aaryanajit participated in the senior category ‘Advancement in Information and Communication Technology’.

His project was designed to give secret data to the concerned people or department who require it. It was based on Li-Fi (light fidelity) technology. Li-Fi is a bidirectional wireless system that transmits data via LED or infrared light. It needs a light source with a chip to transmit an internet signal through light waves. It can help in addressing problems occurring during traffic jam. For example, if an ambulance with a critical patient is stuck up in a traffic jam, the traffic police can send the data in audio form using earphone to change the route. It can also help in addressing communication issues in military and defense.

The exhibition featured over 360 projects displayed by students from more than 190 schools in and around Bhubaneswar. There were seven categories in which students participated viz., Advancement in Information and Communication Technology, Eco-friendly Material, Health and Cleanliness, Transport and Innovation, Environment Concerns, Historical Development with Current Innovation and Mathematics for Us

A panel of experts judged the projects. Students, parents and teachers visited the exhibition in large numbers and motivated the participants.
