FBS celebrates Children’s Day
Children’s Day was celebrated with fervor on 14 November, 2023 at FBS. Floral tributes were paid to Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, to commemorate the 130th birth anniversary.
The day’s proceedings started with conveying warm wishes to children, the future of the nation followed by a special assembly conducted by the teachers. The Principal, Mr. Mathew Thomas, in his address encouraged students to dream big and work hard. He greeted the children warmly on the special day and compared the children to beautiful blossoms and motivated them to spread their fragrance everywhere. He assured them that school stands staunchly behind them to fructify their dreams.
The first Prime Minister of independent India was extremely fond of children and the programme clearly depicted the spirit of the occasion with teachers holding the stage and putting up a mesmerising cultural show for the children. They enthralled the audience with their energetic and graceful moves with their traditional dance. Students pulsated with excitement when their teachers presented a Sambalpuri dance bringing together their poetry of footsteps and a cosmic folk tune on the song ‘Manar maeina’. Subsequently, a song was presented by a group of teachers in praise of Chacha Nehru who led the country into a new and glorious future.
Art and speech competitions for the children of all classes were held and the winners were felicitated by the Principal.
Students were elated to see their teachers performing and celebrating the day with zeal and enthusiasm. The school campus buzzed with excitement and joy as it was a day wherein fun and frolic dominated. The festivities ended with sweets distribution. It was a day full of joy and laughter for the students.
