Students of TASIS Switzerland visit FBS as part of student exchange program

Fifteen students, along with three teachers of TASIS (The American School in Switzerland) Switzerland visited Future Bhubaneswar School (FBS) on 24 February, 2023 as part of the student exchange program. The students were from ten different countries including the United States, Japan, Iran and Brazil.

Students and teachers of FBS welcomed the visitors in a traditional way. The welcome address was delivered by the Vice principal along with a narrative of history of both schools. The welcome address was followed by welcome song ‘We are glad you are here…” by the school choir. An Odissi Dance rendition of “Shiva Tandav” was staged by six students from Class 8 anchored by Amrita Patnaik.

An interactive session followed between the visitors and the students at FBS regarding academic activities, syllabuses, course content and co-curricular activities in both schools, as well as visitors’ experience in India.

Aaryanjeet Mohanty, Class 8 gave a demonstration of his Li-Fi project which was based on Li-Fi (light fidelity) technology and had the potential to address communication issues in military and defense, guide ambulances caught up in traffic jams etc. Saswati Dash and Shrestha Tripathy from Class 9 gave a technical talk on ‘Eco-Cofillent’ which was based on creating an eco-friendly and sustainable system catering to the need of purifying air, cooling the room and repelling pests. The TASIS teachers and students interacted with the FBS students and greatly appreciated the technical presentations.
Thereafter, there was a cultural program where the students performed a Sambalpuri dance, anchored by Dipshita Jena, Class 8. The visitors were fascinated by the dance, the colorful costumes and the headgear. Some of the visitors also enthusiastically participated in doing Rangoli along with the teachers from FBS.

The program ended with distribution of mementoes to each visitor by our Principal, Mr. Mathew Thomas and a farewell song by the FBS Choir.
